They are hip, they are loads, and they are guided by the furious Black Yeti. Almost 100 rookies coming from 14 different nations are about to swarm into Livigno to take part to the Protest World Rookie Fest 2009. In this legendary event, every year the best international young guns defy each other to enter even more important competitions. A lot of top international rookies have confirmed their presence, such as the Norvegian Staale Sandbach, the Dutch Dimi de Jong, and Teddy Koo from Japan. But the question is: who is the new star of snowboarding that is going to shine in Livigno?

The Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno –from January 17 to 21, 2009– will be a one-of-a-kind event. It is going to be the first heat of the itinerant world championship for under-18 athletes: the World Rookie Tour 2009 “The Conquer of the Snowboard Age”. To await the national rookie teams, there is a court worthy of a professional contest with jumps up to 22m high, stairs, and breathtaking prizes: a ticket for the Waegle Taengle Gang Jam 2009 in Mayherofen, six entries to the Protest World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, invitations to the Protest Surf Camp in Hossegor and much more.

Mountain Riders (www.mountain-riders.org) will explain to the participants the importance of respecting mountains, the biggest treasure for snowboard fans. To follow the event, daily updates will be posted on www.freecaster.tv!
