Protest World Rookie Final 2010 in Ischgl, Austria

Only few weeks to the Protest World Rookie Finals 2010 in Ischgl, Austria (7-11 April 2010) where the World Rookie Champion will be awarded with big prizes.

After a full season of rookie events all over, the final youngster challenge of the season, the Swatch 4 star “Protest World Rookie Finals 2010” will be held in Ischgl, Austria, and presented by N.ASA (New Austrian Snowboard Association). The rookies will compete for the WSF World Rookie Champion Title and unbelievable prizes: one invitation to filming sessions with the Pirate Movie Productions, a freeride film trip in Chile with international Red Bull pros, shooting with Onboard European Snowboard Magazine and a wild card for the Air&Style Rookie Challenge 2010 in Innsbruck.

In last seasons the World Rookie Fests program offered the youngsters a fair and clear chance to enter the pro system.” said Martin Frejnademetz, snowboard legend and n.asa President. “ticket to pro event, photo shooting and filming session are the best prizes ever to help a snowboarder’s carrier”.

The best youngsters already challenged during the previous stops all over the world, and now is time to move to Austria for the final rookie event of the season. A great level of riding is expected and the starting list is already solid as the best riders of the previus rookie fests stops are invited and many other rising stars are expected to come and shred the new Ischgl slopestyle designed by Q-Park.


An Onboard Europe photoshooting will be held straight after the event, from 11 to 15 of april, in Italy. The shooting is reserved to the winner from Livigno Protest World Rookie Fest, Roope Tonteri, plus winners from the finals in Ischgl: best male rookie, best male grom and best girl from Ischgl.

Partecipation at Protest World Rookie Final in Ischgl
– Partecipation at the event costs €350 including inscription, lift tickets, hotel in half board from 7 to 11 April and gifts. For coach, parents and crew the partecipation fee is €300.
– Every WSF national snowboard associations is invited to register a rookie team consisting of 2 male and 1 female rookies, 1 male and 1 female groms.
– The best riders, both male and female, from the previous stops in Italy, Andorra, Serbia and Czech Republic are already qualifed to the Protest World Rookie Finals (full list below).
– In addition the top 30 riders out of the World Rookie Rank are qualified to the finals in Ischgl
– Age groups: Rookies are born 1992,1993 and 1994, Grom are born 1995 and over.

NOTE: Inscription have to be sended by the national secretary or national coach for the complete team of that nation.

Admission Criteria Riders, male and female, born 1st January 1992 and younger are admitted
Riders will be devided in 2 age groups: born before/after 1995
Only riders from WSF member nations are admitted. Qualified are the top 30 riders of the World Rookie Rank. And every Nation is allowed to nominate 2 Rookies Men, 1 Rookie Girl, 1 Grom Men, 1 Grom Girl.
The best riders, both male and female, from the previous stops in Italy, Andorra, Serbia and Czech Republic are already qualifed to the Protest World Rookie Finals. National secretary or national coaches are allowed to send their team inscriptions.
