It’s been a week full of surprises, tricks, fun and adrenaline in Kaprun! New and old friends came together to celebrate their love for snowboarding and we couldn’t be more happy of the results! World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2022: in the name of peace

Let’s get to know the new World Rookie Champions

Riders from all over the world met in Austria, in a perfectly adapted Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark, for a unique sports and lifestyle event, in a great international scenario. The program of 2022 World Rookie Finals included Slopestyle and Halfpipe contest and many lifestyle activities: social dinners, workshops with Viva con Aqua, Yoga, MonEpic workshop, and more.

For the first time ever the welcome was thrilling above all expectations. World Rookie Snowboard Finals opening ceremony in fact, spread love and an international message of peace: in the centre of the rider’s heart, the Black Yeti stands with the Ukrainian flag. As you know, Black Yeti working not only to offer a great competition but also a unique international opportunity for personal growth to all our riders, coaches, partners, and friends. The message is clear: together we are stronger! In addition, after the emotional ceremony workshops about “basic human rights” in cooperation with the Safe Shred WSF program, and about “Wood Transfer Photography” by Monepic.com took place.

About the competitions, our rookies gave to the judges some hard time with their amazing performances.

Unfortunately, this year the slopestyle finals got cut short due to the bad weather conditions, but luckily everyone was able to send it in the qualifications and here’s the athletes that got the top podium spots.

The Superpipe at the Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark was the perfect location to get the Rookies and Grom to compete for the halfpipe champion titles. As you can read, athletes from Japan got the better of all participants!

  • RIDERS CATEGORIES
    Riders, male and female, born 1st January 2004 and younger are admitted to World Rookie Finals.

Riders will be divided in two age groups: Rookies born 2004 until 2006 – Groms 2007 and younger

  • WORLD ROOKIE RANK
    For Snb are admitted the Top 20 riders of the World Rookie Rank (top 20 male, top 20 female) + the top 10 riders from the Grom rank by the 23.03.2022.

    National quota for WSF Members allowed to get 5 spots

    The Top 3 riders, (both Male and Female / Rookie and Grom) from every WRT Stop from Season 2021/22 are already qualified to the World Rookie Finals.

Black Yeti announces dates and locations for the 2022 snowboard and freeski finals of the World Rookie Tour. Madonna di Campiglio in Italy, Trentino, and Kitzsteinhorn Zell am See-Kaprun in Austria, are thrilled to host hundreds of young aspiring professionals, making them live one of the most unforgettable experiences of their sports lives.

World Rookie Tour is an unmissable opportunity for those who want to transform their passion into a well-defined professional career. World Rookie Tour can confirm that even in 2022: our World Rookie Champions of snowboard and freeski, both male and female, will have a place secured in the next season of the FIS World Cup Tour, and many other incredible prizes to support their career. World Rookie Freeski Finals | 20.24 March 2022
Madonna di Campiglio and Black Yeti launch a historic partnership, setting the location for the next World Rookie Freeski Finals for the three-year period 2022-2024. Trentino is therefore preparing to become the main theatre in which young talents of international freeskiing will be able to compete for access to the professional world, in one of the best snow parks in the Alps. During the event, the partnership with local realities will be strong, with which it will be possible to discover the area and experience a unique travel experience of its kind.

World Rookie Snowboard Finals | 26 March – 2 April 2022
On the snowboarding side, finals will be back in style to the historic location of Kitzsteinhorn Zell am See-Kaprun, for a seven-day contest and non-stop activities. A unique program will include halfpipe and slopestyle contests, many workshops and side events, while the convenient option of staying all at the same hotel, the Jufa Hotel, will still be valid. If you want to be present, participate and see the future of snowboarding with your own eyes. Kaprun is where you need to be.

ABOUT WORLD ROOKIE TOUR
The World Rookie Tour is organized by the Black Yeti ssrl in collaboration with World Snowboard Federation, National Snowboard, Ski and Skateboard Associations, and selected action sports agencies.
