Registrations are now open for the Groms Open Rookie Fest 2026, taking place on January 5–6, 2026, at PenkenPark in Mayrhofen, Austria. Two days of snowboarding, progression and World Rookie Tour vibes await young riders ready to kick off the new year on snow.
Hosted at the iconic PenkenPark in the Horberg ski area, shaped by the PenkenPark Crew and operated by Mayrhofner Bergbahnen, this event marks the first tour stop of 2026 and a key moment for young snowboarders aiming to step into the international scene. Two days of riding, progression and shared stoke will turn Mayrhofen into the meeting point for the next generation of riders.
The Groms Open Rookie Fest is more than a competition. It’s where the season begins, friendships are built, and rookies experience the real World Rookie Tour vibe. Riders will compete across different age categories, pushing their best tricks in a park designed to reward style, control and creativity.

The program may change due to weather conditions, snowpark setup and the number of registered riders.
Beyond podiums and medals, the stakes are real. Riders will earn points for the World Rookie Tour, World Snowboard Tour and World Snowboard Federation rankings, while the overall winner secures a direct ticket to the World Rookie Finals. Premium prizes from Blue Tomato and TSG raise the bar even higher.
Helmets and protectors are mandatory. Registration for the Groms Open Rookie Fest 2026 closes on January 3, 2026. Entry fee is 50€ per athlete, lift pass not included, with a discounted rate available at the Horbergbahn Valley Station for event days.
