The Freeski World Rookie Fest 2020 returns to Innsbruck, Austria

After a successful premiere last season, the Freeski World Rookie Fest 2020 is returning to Innsbruck for the 2nd edition of the event.
The Nordkette Skyline Park above Innsbruck will be the place to be for the young and upcoming Freeski generation from all over the world from February 14th – 16th, 2020.
They all will participate in the Slopestyle competition to secure their ticket for the Freeski World Rookie Finals at Seiser Alm (ITA) later on this season. The Top 3 athletes in each category will be qualified for the Finals. The best girl and best boy will be invited to the Finals for free.
Registration is now open The Freeski World Rookie Fest in Innsbruck is an event for all young riders who would like to gain contest experience. For those who are dreaming about a professional Freeski career as well as for those who just wanna have fun together with other youngsters on the mountain. Come and join! All riders born on 1st January 2002 and younger are invited to participate.
Next to the qualification for the Freeski World Rookie Finals, riders can earn FIS-Junior points. For Austrian riders, the World Rookie Fest also counts as the Austrian Junior National Championships. Interested riders can find registration information here or contact



In last year’s edition, all participants showed that the future of the sport is in good hands. The premiere edition 2019 saw two Austrian winners with Nicco Huber as Rookie Winner (under 19 years) and Daniel Bacher as Grom Winner (under 16 years). Let’s see if they will be able to defend their titles against competitors from across the world.

Additionally to the action on the mountain, the World Rookie Fest provides lots of interesting side-events.
The Austrian Freeski Days are taking place on Sunday, Feb. 16th, where the Austrian Freeski federation provides coaches for everyone who wants to learn their first freestyle basics. For registration please head to On Saturday evening all contest participants are invited to join the so-called “Feld-Schule”, here kids will learn how to use food in a more sustainable way to reduce the impact on mother earth. Kids will cook meals from food which supermarkets are not selling anymore due to e.g. best-before dates and will enjoy the meals together.
