The Santander Rookie Fest made a powerful debut at Life Skate Farm, quickly establishing itself as one of the most exciting new stops on the World Rookie Tour calendar. Held in collaboration with Surf to Live, this epic contest brought together nearly 50 young skaters from 6 different countries for a full day of competition, culture and community.
From the early morning training sessions, the level of skateboarding was already sky-high: clean lines, technical tricks and undeniable style lit up the park well before the contest had even begun. As the competition got underway, it became clear that the Santander Rookie Fest was destined to be something truly special.
The event delivered non-stop action, with riders pushing their limits on every obstacle. The mix of raw talent, fair play, and the electric atmosphere made it a day to remember. Adding to the vibe was a surprise breakdance show by Stefano Beltrame, Italian champion of Red Bull BC One, who brought street culture straight into the heart of the skatepark.
The overall atmosphere at Life Skate Farm was pure magic: skaters, families, and friends came together for a day full of sport, music and sharing. At lunch, everyone — riders and supporters — enjoyed burgers served right inside the skatepark, so not a single second of the action was missed.
Hosted by Life Skate Farm and co-organised with Surf to Live — a long-time partner of the World Rookie Tour — the event perfectly blended skateboarding and community spirit. Over the years, Surf to Live has helped support the rookie scene across action sports, and their role in Santander was key to the event’s success. A big thank you also goes out to the event speaker – Kini González – who kept the energy high from start to finish.
As part of the official WRT qualifying series, the winners of each category earned a direct spot in the World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals, which will take place for the first time in Slovenia at the end of September — a milestone for the global rookie scene.
