We’re beyond excited to announce a brand-new stop in the 2025 World Rookie Tour calendar: the UK Rookie Fest 2025, set to take place on August 23 at the legendary Unit 23 Skatepark in Dumbarton, Scotland!

Although the World Rookie Tour has previously stopped in the UK—with past events in Glasgow and Manchester—this is our debut at Scotland’s iconic Unit 23 Skatepark in Dumbarton, and we couldn’t ask for a better host. Unit 23 Skatepark is not only the largest indoor skatepark in the UK, but also a core hub for the skateboarding community. Open since 2002 and proudly rider-owned and rider-run, the park is designed by skaters, for skaters – a true dream spot for young shredders.

With 56,000 square feet of riding space and ramps spread across three massive halls, Unit 23 has something for everyone: from beginners to seasoned rookies. The facilities include a huge foam pit for trying out new tricks, as well as a replica of the iconic Little Devil Bowl. Whether you’re looking to compete, progress, or just vibe with the international skate community, this stop is not to be missed.

The UK Rookie Fest 2025 will feature two main contests: a street competition and a bowl competition, both open to Groms and Rookies, in Boys and Girls categories. Top riders will not only earn their place on the podium but also secure qualification for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025, which will be held in Slovenia this September.

As always, the WRT is about much more than trophies. It’s about giving the next generation of skaters the tools, visibility, and inspiration to pursue a professional career. And what better place to do that than Scotland’s most iconic skatepark?

What to expect:

On Saturday, August 23rd, the UK Rookie Fest 2025 will feature:

• Street contest (Hall 2)

• Bowl contest (Hall 1)

• Categories for Rookies (born 2005–2008) and Groms (born 2009 and up)

• Boys and Girls divisions

• Official judging by skateboarding experts

• Prizes from Blue Tomato, TSG and Clan Skateboards – Glasgow

• 2 all-inclusive tickets for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Velenje, Slovenia

All podium riders will automatically qualify for the Finals in Slovenia this September!

Get ready: the Moldavian Rookie Fest 2025 is officially on! From August 1–3, the Skatepark Valea Trandafirilor in Chișinău will host the second edition of the only official skateboarding contest in Moldova, once again part of the World Rookie Tour – the global series that helps shape the future stars of skateboarding.

After the smashing success of 2023, the Moldavian Rookie Fest 2025 is back and it’s bigger, louder, and more epic than ever!

International vibes & Next-Gen talent

With international riders already confirmed, the level of competition will be 🔥. Expect style, creativity, and progression from all categories: Groms, Rookies, Boys, and Girls. An official judging panel from the World Rookie Tour will evaluate every trick.

🏆 The Top 3 in each category will qualify directly for the WRT Finals in Velenje, Slovenia (September 2025).
🎟️ The Best Boy Overall and Best Girl Overall will receive an all-inclusive golden ticket to the Finals.

Entry Fees? Not for Moldovan Riders!

To support local talent, Moldovan riders enter for free. International participants are welcome, with a symbolic entry fee of just €20.

The World Rookie Tour Skateboard is entering a new era: for the first time, the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025 will take place in Slovenia, from September 27 to 29, at the state-of-the-art Urbani Park Velenje.

This is more than just a location change – it’s a bold new step for the tour. Velenje is a modern and green-minded city, nestled in the Šalek Valley, surrounded by the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and lush forests. It’s a place where history meets the future, offering world-class infrastructure and a deep commitment to youth, sport, and sustainability.

At the heart of this new adventure lies Urbani Park Velenje, the largest and most advanced skatepark in Slovenia, featuring:

• A high-level bowl section for transitions and flow,

The wait is over! The World Rookie Tour Skateboard 2025 is officially on, ready to ignite skateparks all over the globe with fresh energy, top locations, and unforgettable experiences.

This year, the WRT family welcomes a new country on the map: for the first time ever, we’re heading to Spain, with an epic stop in Santander! A perfect spot by the ocean, ready to host the best young skaters and bring the WRT vibes to the Spanish scene.

Big news also for Italy: in 2025, the Italian stop moves to a brand-new location — welcome to 101 Skatepark in Cesena, a fresh playground for the next generation of skateboarding talent!

Once again, the unstoppable Black Yeti, with his skateboard under his feet, will travel across Europe to discover and support the future stars of skateboarding.
The adventure kicks off in the heart of the Alps, in France at the iconic Les Deux Alpes, before rolling into Italy and Spain. From there, the tour continues to legendary spots in Scotland and Finland, then drops into the Balkans with a first stop in Bulgaria.

Here, as well as in Germany, riders won’t just face the classic street competition but will also get the chance to express their style and creativity in epic bowl contests — a double challenge for true all-around skaters! The tour keeps cruising with a second stop in Bulgaria, before heading through Hungary and Greece, where the passion for skateboarding grows stronger every year.

Finally, after months of insane sessions, friendships, and next-level tricks, the journey will reach its ultimate destination: the Grand Finals in Slovenia, from September 27th to 29th, 2025.
Here, the best rookies and groms will battle not only in the street but also in bowl, fighting for glory, unforgettable experiences, and incredible prizes!

As always, the World Rookie Tour is more than just a contest:

• The riders on the podium of each stop will secure their spot for the finals.

• Plus, at every event, All-Inclusive Tickets for the finals in Slovenia will be awarded, giving even more skaters the chance to live the WRT experience to the fullest!

The World Rookie Tour is open to the future stars of skateboarding!
Two age categories are ready to welcome young talents:

– Rookies (men and women): born between January 1st, 2006, and December 31st, 2009
– Groms (men and women): born on January 1st, 2010, and younger

Whether you’re a rising rookie or a fearless grom, this is your chance to step into the spotlight!

And what about the finals? Get ready because the prize pool is next level!

Get ready for a historic moment in the World Rookie Tour: we are back in Spain! The highly anticipated Santander Rookie Fest will take place from June 20th to 21st, 2025, bringing the ultimate rookie skateboarding action to the beautiful coastal city of Santander.

Spain is known for its vibrant skate culture, and Santander is the perfect place to welcome the World Rookie Tour family. Expect a high-energy event with top rookies worldwide ready to showcase their skills and battle for a spot in the 2025 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals!

The Santander Rookie Fest is part of the World Rookie Camp Santander, a full week of action, fun, and progression from June 15th to 22nd, 2025. This unique experience includes skateboarding sessions, workshops, cultural activities, and a chance to fully immerse yourself in the World Rookie Tour lifestyle—all in the stunning coastal setting of northern Spain.

The countdown has officially started for the first skateboard contest of the World Rookie Tour Season 25: the French Fries Rookie Fest! Mark your calendars for May 14th, 2025, because Les Deux Alpes will be where the new skate legends are born.

The French Fries Rookie Fest is part of the World Rookie Camp of Skateboarding at Les Deux Alpes, an epic week from May 11th to May 16th, 2025, dedicated to shredding, learning, and good vibes. The camp includes daily training sessions at the L2A Skatepark with dedicated coaches, rad workshops (think stretch, yoga, breakdance, tattoos, judge clinic and even more surprises), full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and registration to the contest itself!

The event is stacked with awesome prizes:

• 2 All-inclusive tickets to the 2025 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals (location to be announced)
• All podium riders will automatically qualify for the 2025 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals
• Tons of sponsor goodies up for grabs!
