World Rookie Camp Lapland 2026: kick off your freeski season in Levi

The World Rookie Tour is heading to Finnish Lapland for three days dedicated to freeski progression, training and good times on and off the slopes.

From October 29 to 31, 2026, the World Rookie Camp Lapland will take over Levi Ski Resort, Finland, bringing together the next generation of freeskiers for an early-season camp in one of the most iconic winter destinations in Northern Europe.

Three days. Top coaches. First tricks of the season.

The formula is simple: ride, learn, progress and have fun. Riders will spend three days training slopestyle on Levi’s Front Slope alongside experienced coaches Aron Hayes, Emil Abdulin and Severi Silvander.

Each day will feature dedicated training sessions, while the program also includes activities away from the slopes. Friday evening will bring the crew to Levi Water World, while Saturday is planned to wrap up with a campfire dinner and closing ceremony.

It’s the perfect setup to get back on skis, work on new tricks and start the winter surrounded by the international World Rookie Tour community.

Registration is open

The Early Bird Camp Package costs €349 for registrations completed by October 6 at 23:59. After that, the regular package will cost €399, with registrations closing on October 22 at 23:59.

The package includes three lunches, three dinners, coaching and all camp program activities. Accommodation and lift passes are not included. Riders can get 10% off apartment accommodation at Levi Suites using the code PROWRT.

International riders can register through the dedicated Google Form, while Suomisport account holders can register via Suomisport.

World Rookie Camp Hintertux 2026: the glacier is calling

Skateboards still rolling, snowboards already waxed. As the skate season heads to its Finals in Celje, the Yeti is getting ready for winter, starting from the glacier. 🏂

From November 11th to 15th, 2026, the third World Rookie Camp Hintertux, presented by Ästhetiker, World Snowboard Federation and World Rookie Tour, takes over the Hintertux Glacier in Tyrol, Austria. Snowboard and freeski, open to all ages, riders from all over the world: five days of pre-season training in a freshly shaped park, weeks before most resorts even open.

Coming with your coach? Perfect. Riding solo? The legendary Ästhetiker crew has you covered, with slopestyle training and coaching every morning from Thursday to Saturday. Park shaping by Better Parks – Wille Kaufmann. Filmers and photographers follow the camp all week, and every rider gets pics and footage for free. Your content for the season: sorted.

Off the snow

A visit to the Natur Eis Palast, a Glacier Technical Insides Workshop presented by Hintertux, trampoline and skate time at the Kaboom Hall in Kaltenbach. Add a WRT workshop for coaches and parents, the Video Contest prize-giving, and a Saturday night party.

Sunday: Rail Session

The camp closes with a Rail Session on Sunday, November 15th, and it counts:

  • Rookie Rank points for snowboard and freeski
  • Best Girl and Best Boy win free entry to the World Rookie Finals FS & SNB (accommodation, lift tickets and entry fee included)
  • Top 3 girls and top 3 boys qualify for Rock a Rail Innsbruck

Home base: Adler Inn

Sofia Rookie Fest 2026: the World Rookie Tour is back in Bulgaria

Saturday, September 19th, 2026. Brand-new skatepark, Severen Park, Sofia. Every podium takes a qualification ticket for the Celje Finals, and the best girl and best boy of the day go all-inclusive.

The World Rookie Tour is coming back to Sofia. On Saturday, September 19th, 2026, the Bulgarian capital hosts the Sofia Rookie Fest 2026 at the brand-new skatepark in Severen Park: a full day of skateboarding, adrenaline and good music, six days before the season’s showdown.

Contest Format

The session starts early. Open practice runs from 10:00 to 12:00, giving every rider time to get dialled in on fresh concrete. Qualifications for all categories follow from 12:30 to 15:30, the finals light up the park from 16:00 to 17:00, and prize giving is set for 17:30.

New park, new lines, no reference points: in Sofia everyone starts from scratch, and that practice session is going to matter.

Qualification and Prizes

This is where Sofia gets serious. Every rider who lands on a podium walks away with a qualification ticket for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Celje, Slovenia, on September 25th–27th, 2026 — the last big one of the season.

And there is more on the table: the best girl and the best boy of the day take home an all-inclusive package for the Finals. One contest, one podium, and the whole Celje experience is covered. That is the World Rookie Tour doing what it does best — opening doors for the next generation, from a local park straight onto the global stage, all the way down the #RoadToLA28.

Registration

There is no online registration for the Sofia Rookie Fest. All riders sign up on site, on the day of the contest. Show up early, put your name on the list and use the full open practice window — the jam waits for nobody.

Garda Rookie Fest 2026: sport, art and inclusion take over Trentino

The next generation of action sports heads to Riva del Garda for a historic BMX debut, an inclusive art workshop and a weekend of skateboarding progression.

 

From September 11th to 13th, 2026, the Garda Rookie Fest will bring international young riders to Go Fast Skatepark in Riva del Garda, turning Trentino into a meeting point for sport, creativity and the next generation.

The event marks a new chapter for the World Rookie Tour, with BMX Freestyle joining the circuit for the first time. But this weekend is about more than competition.

Art, Skateboards and Inclusion in Action

On Friday, September 11th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Italian tattoo artist Nino Pasquarella, founder of Made in Milano Tattoo, will lead an inclusive art workshop alongside Anffas Trento.

Participants from the Garda Rookie Camp and Garda Rookie Fest will join people supported by Anffas to draw and customize skateboard decks. The workshop will turn an iconic piece of skate culture into a shared creative experience, connecting people through art and breaking down barriers.

BMX makes history, skateboarders chase the Finals

The contest features Ramp competitions for Skateboard and BMX, with Rookie and Grom categories for boys and girls. The first-ever official WRT BMX event opens a new chapter for young riders and the international action sports community.

For skateboarders, all podium finishers qualify for the 2026 World Rookie Skateboard Finals, taking place September 25th–27th in Celje, Slovenia. The Rookie winner also receives free accommodation and registration. Podium riders in both disciplines will receive prizes from FrontOcean BMX Distribution, TSG and Blue Tomato.

The World Rookie Tour is heading back to Switzerland! On September 12th, 2026, the SKATEACADEMY.CH Rookie Fest will take over Skatepark Elgg, Zurich, bringing the next generation of Swiss skateboarders together for a full day of street action, good vibes and the chance to secure a ticket to the World Rookie Skateboard Finals.

Now in its 7th edition, the Swiss WRT stop is all about progression, community and having a great session with the crew. But there’s plenty at stake too: the Top 3 riders in each category will qualify for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals, while cash prizes, vouchers and product prizes are waiting for the best riders.

Categories & Contest Format:

The competition is open to boys and girls in two age groups:

  • Groms U16: born in 2011 or later
  • Rookie Shredders U21: born between 2005 and 2010

The contest will go down in Street format.

Qualification: 3-minute Jam Session with 2 skaters
Final: 2 x 1-minute runs + 1 Last Trick – best run counts

If a category has fewer than five riders, categories may be combined.

BDTSK8 Celebrates 15 Years: The World Rookie Tour Lands in the New Chemnitz Skatehalle

Germany’s biggest skateboard festival hits a milestone. From August 21th to 23th, 2026, BDTSK8 celebrates its 15th anniversary and returns as the official German stop of the World Rookie Tour Skateboard. This time in a brand-new home.

The festival moves into the Druckbude Skatehalle Chemnitz, inside the historic Schönherrfabrik, opened this past spring. Modern park, bowl and street sections make it one of the most exciting indoor setups in Germany, and BDTSK8 is among the first major events to take it over.

What’s on the line

Beyond the contests, the hall stays open to everyone between sessions: bring your board, skate with the community, no start number required. One rule applies all weekend: the arena is skate only. New for 2026, campers, vans and tents can park right next to the hall, with showers inside.

Sea & Ride Rookie Fest 2026 heads to Bulgaria: bowl skateboarding returns to the Black Sea

The World Rookie Skateboard Tour is ready to bring another unforgettable stop to the 2026 season with the Sea & Ride Rookie Fest, taking place on 9th August 2026 at the spectacular X Challenge Park in Tsarevo, Bulgaria. Nestled in a beautiful pine forest on the Black Sea coast, the venue features one of the region’s best concrete bowl facilities and promises an action-packed day of world-class youth skateboarding.

Open to Rookies (born 2007–2010) and Groms (born 2011 and later), the event is part of the official World Rookie Rank and offers young riders the chance to qualify for the 2026 World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Celje, Slovenia.

The top three riders on each podium will secure their place at the World Rookie Finals, while the best two Rookie riders will receive all-inclusive tickets to compete against the world’s best young skateboarders. Riders will also battle for prizes from Blue Tomato, Etnies, TSG, and other World Rookie Tour partners.

Portugal Rookie Fest 2026 returns to Peniche: registrations are now open!

The Portugal Rookie Fest 2026 is back on the World Rookie Tour Skateboard calendar and registrations are officially open.

Taking place on August 29–30, 2026, at Boa Sombra Skatepark in Peniche, Portugal, the event will once again bring together the next generation of skateboarders in one of Europe’s most iconic surf and skate destinations. Following a hugely successful debut in 2025, the Portuguese stop promises another weekend packed with world-class skateboarding, workshops, music and summer vibes.

Event Information:

The competition is open to riders under 20 years old and features four official categories:

  • Grom Boys & Girls (born in 2011 or later)
  • Rookie Boys & Girls (born between 2007 and 2010)

The contest is limited to 80 riders, so early registration is highly recommended.

Besides the competition, participants can enjoy free practice sessions, a Best Trick contest, workshops, live music and plenty of opportunities to meet riders from all over Europe.

Garda Rookie Camp 2026 is ON: first-ever BMX & Skate camp in Italy hits Riva del Garda

From September 10th to 13th, 2026, the World Rookie Tour drops something completely new: the Garda Rookie Camp, landing in Riva del Garda for four days of pure skate and BMX progression.

And here’s the big one: for the first time ever in Italy, a World Rookie Tour camp will feature both BMX and SKATEBOARD together. Same spot, same vibe, same next-gen energy.

Hosted by Black Yeti and part of the official WRT circuit, this camp is built for riders who want to level up, connect with other rookies from different countries, and ride one of the cleanest setups in Northern Italy: Go Fast Skatepark.

What’s the plan? Expect daily sessions with qualified coaches, video shooting, side activities — and a full weekend of contests to close it out:

Two events, one location, zero excuses.

Important: Camp and contests are independent. You can join the full camp experience, compete in one or both Rookie Fests as a day rider, or do both. Nothing is mandatory, you choose your level of commitment.

The camp is open to riders aged 7+, with at least a basic riding level (no first-timers here). Safety is taken seriously: helmet mandatory, 24/7 supervision, and certified coaching staff.

The World Rookie Tour is heading back to Finland for another exciting stop of the 2026 skateboard season. On July 10th, 2026, the Finland Rookie Fest will take place at the brand-new Grip Skatepark in Tampere, welcoming the country’s best young skateboarders for a day of progression, competition and international opportunities.

Part of the global World Rookie Tour, the event is open to riders under 20 years old and offers a direct pathway to the 2026 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals, scheduled in Celje, Slovenia, from September 25th to 27th, 2026.

The Finland Rookie Fest follows the Finnish Skateboarding Federation and Varala Skate Camp, giving participants the perfect chance to sharpen their skills before competition day.

Amazing Prizes Up for Grabs

The Top 3 riders in each category will earn a coveted spot at the World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals 2026 in Slovenia.

In addition, the best overall female and male rider of the event, based on the highest scores achieved during the competition, will receive free registration and accommodation for the World Rookie Tour Finals.

Thanks to local partner MANANA Skateshop, competitors will also have the chance to win additional prizes and giveaways during the event.

Event Format & Categories

The competition will take place on the Street Course of Grip Skatepark and will follow a simple format designed to give every rider the opportunity to showcase their best tricks.

Each competitor will have:

  • 3 runs of 1 minute each
  • Best run counts for the final ranking
  • Riders’ meeting before every category
  • Judging based on difficulty, variety, consistency, style, speed, use of obstacles and overall execution

The event is open to riders under 20 years old and will feature the following divisions:

After more than 20 years of supporting the next generation of action sports athletes, BMX officially joins the WRT family.

The BMX competition will be held at Go Fast Skatepark, one of Northern Italy’s most exciting urban sports facilities. Riders from across Europe will battle for podium positions while becoming part of a historic moment for the tour.

The event is open to male and female riders in the following categories:

The World Rookie Tour is heading to Italy for one of the most exciting stops of the 2026 skateboarding season. From September 11th to 13th, the brand-new Garda Rookie Fest will take place at Go Fast Skatepark in Riva del Garda, bringing together the next generation of skateboarders for a weekend of progression, competition and community.

The event is open to male and female riders in two age categories:

  • Rookie: born between January 1st, 2007 and December 31st, 2010
  • Grom: born after January 1st, 2011

All athletes must compete in the category corresponding to their year of birth.

The skateboarding program includes free training sessions on Friday and Saturday, followed by the Skateboard Ramp Contest Qualifications on Sunday morning and the Finals on Sunday afternoon. A special Best Trick Contest for both Skateboard and BMX riders will take place on Saturday evening.

The stakes are high: all skateboard athletes finishing on the podium in their category will qualify for the 2026 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals, while the winner of the Rookie category will receive a free entry package including accommodation and registration for the Finals. Additional prizes from event sponsors will also be awarded.

Hamburg Kicks Off the 2026 World Rookie Tour Skateboard Season with Street and Park Action

The 2026 World Rookie Tour Skateboard season officially starts in Germany with a double event weekend in Hamburg, bringing together the next generation of skateboarders from across Europe for two days of competition, progression, and good vibes.

Event details:

On June 6th, 2026, riders will hit the legendary Allerfornia Skatepark for the Hamburg Rookie Tour Street, where rookies and groms will battle through technical street lines, creative tricks, and stylish runs in one of Hamburg’s most iconic skate spots.

The action continues on June 7th, 2026, at Skatepark Eidelstedt with the Hamburg Rookie Tour Park, giving competitors the opportunity to showcase their skills on transitions, hips, quarters, and flowing park lines. With valuable ranking points up for grabs, riders will be looking to make a strong start to their World Rookie Tour journey.

The Hamburg events will open a season that will travel through several countries before reaching the World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Slovenia, scheduled for September 25th–27th, 2026.

Whether competing in Street or Park, every rider will have the chance to earn points for the overall rankings and begin their road toward the season finals.

Lapland Rookie Camp 2026 Wraps Up with First Freeski Slopestyle Podiums of the New Season

The Lapland Rookie Camp 2026 just wrapped up at Levi Ski Resort, closing a week of progression, sessions and next-level vibes in the Arctic.

From April 27th to 30th, young riders from different countries came together to train, push their limits and get ready for the first contest of the new World Rookie Tour 2027 season.

And on April 30th, it was time to drop in: the Lapland Rookie Fest Freeski Slopestyle officially kicked off the season with a night final under the Arctic sky, a unique setup where style, flow and trick selection made the difference.

Set in one of Europe’s most iconic summer destinations, this event drops right in the middle of a full week of riding, progression, and international vibes. On May 13, the spotlight shifts from glacier lines to concrete, giving skateboard rookies their moment to shine.

The French Fries Rookie Fest is more than just a contest—it’s where young skaters step into the World Rookie Tour scene, connect with riders from all over the world, and throw down their best tricks in a proper international setup.

Lapland Rookie Fest 2026: The First Drop of the World Rookie Tour 2027 Season Lands in Levi Ski Resort

On April 30th, the Lapland Rookie Fest 2026 officially kicks off the World Rookie Tour 2027 season, making it one of the first chances to earn points and make your mark on the new tour.

Set in the surreal Arctic landscape of Levi, Finland, this Freeski Slopestyle competition blends spring conditions with endless daylight and a top-tier park setup. It’s where progression starts early, and riders show up ready to send from day one.

Open to Rookie (2009–2011) and Grom (2012 and younger) categories, the event is designed for the next generation stepping into the scene. Riders will compete for both FIS points and World Rookie Freeski Rank points, with one key detail: no FIS code required, making the contest accessible to all emerging talents.

The setup, shaped by the Levi South Park Crew, will deliver a creative and technical slopestyle line where style, flow and trick selection make the difference.

And then comes the highlight:
evening finals under the Arctic sky, a one-of-a-kind contest vibe you won’t find anywhere else.

World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2026: the next generation crowned at Kitzsteinhorn

The World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2026 marked the official end of the winter season, bringing the best young snowboarders in the world to Kitzsteinhorn from March 21 to 28.

Once again, the World Rookie Tour confirmed itself as one of the most important pathways for future pro riders, with a week packed full of progression, style, and next-level riding.

From the very first day, the Big Air contest set the tone. Marie Kuhlmann took control in the Groms category, while Mariia Nikolskaia claimed victory in the Rookie division with a clean Backside 1080. On the men’s side, Dmytro Luchkin raised the bar with a Backside 1620, securing his first World Rookie title, while Valter Panzeri (ITA) topped the Groms podium.

The Slopestyle contest delivered a different vibe, thanks to a creative setup built around rails, a knuckle and a massive hip instead of traditional kickers. The format rewarded flow, creativity and control. Kuhlmann and Nikolskaia confirmed their dominance, both taking their second wins of the week in their respective categories, while Luchkin doubled up with another gold medal. Norin Keller stood out in the Groms category with a strong performance and took the win.

The Rail Jam brought the Finals to a close under snowy conditions, adding an extra layer of challenge. Keller secured his second victory in the Groms category, while Juri Nakayama claimed the win in the women’s division. In the men’s category, Pyry Posio (FIN) dominated the contest.

The highlight of the week came from Nikolskaia, who completed a perfect run across all disciplines,  winning Big Air, Slopestyle and Rail Jam, and securing the triple crown of the 2026 edition.

BIG AIR FINALS POSTPONED | UPDATED SCHEDULE

The World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2026 continue at Kitzsteinhorn Zell am See-Kaprun, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Big Air Finals have been officially postponed to ensure the best possible riding conditions and athlete safety.

The Big Air competition will now take place tomorrow March 24th, together with the Slopestyle Finals, promising a stacked day of high-level progression, heavy tricks, and next-gen talent going full send.

Originally scheduled earlier in the program, the Big Air Finals have been rescheduled to allow riders to compete in optimal conditions, maintaining the high standards that define the World Rookie Tour.

Looking ahead, the Rail Jam is now confirmed for March 25th, where riders will battle it out on technical features, showcasing style, creativity, and precision in one of the most anticipated formats of the week.

Every season, the World Rookie Snowboard Finals gather the best under-18 snowboarders from across the globe, all qualified through the international stops of the World Rookie Tour. After months of competitions across Europe, Asia, and North America, only the most talented riders make it to this stage.

Set against the iconic alpine backdrop of Kitzsteinhorn Zell am See-Kaprun, this event continues to be a key milestone for future pro riders. Over the years, it has been the launchpad for some of the biggest names in international snowboarding.

Despite the schedule change, the hype is real. With Big Air and Slopestyle now dropping on the same day, expect one of the heaviest days of the entire event.

World Rookie Freeski Finals 2026: Inside the L Line That Will Crown the Next Champions

The road to the crown reaches its final stop in the Dolomites. From March 15th to 20th, 2026, the World Rookie Freeski Finals return to Madonna di Campiglio, hosted once again at Ursus Snowpark, one of Europe’s most respected freestyle parks.

As the most important event of the World Rookie Tour, the Finals bring together the best qualified Grom and Rookie freeskiers from around the world for a week of progression, competition and international visibility.

Several nations have already confirmed their participation, including Latvia, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Finland, highlighting the global reach of the rookie circuit and the strong interest around this year’s Finals.

Course Preview: The Legendary L Line

The 2026 World Rookie Freeski Finals will take place exclusively on the L Line of Ursus Snowpark, one of the most progressive kicker lines in Europe.

The Slopestyle course will feature three jumps followed by two rails with different combo options, offering athletes the chance to build creative and technical runs.

The kicker section provides a wide range of sizes designed to support progression while allowing riders to push their limits.

The first kicker starts from a sweet spot of 10 meters up to 17 meters, the second kicker ranges between 14 and 22 meters, while the third kicker reaches sizes from 17 to 27 meters, creating a progressive flow that rewards confidence, amplitude and technical control.

More Than a Title

Winning the World Rookie Freeski Finals means earning the title of World Rookie Freeski Champion and entering the World Rookie Tour Hall of Fame, a pathway that has launched many international freestyle careers.

Podium riders will unlock exclusive opportunities including World Rookie Camps, Red Bull Experiences, invitations to Rock A Rail 2026, Surf Camps in Santander, Golden Tickets and premium products from partners such as Collective [of] Moving People, TSG, Blue Tomato and Level Gloves.

Each nation can bring up to six wild card riders, in addition to the already qualified top three athletes (male and female, Rookie and Grom) from every 2026 World Rookie Tour stop.

Ogau Rookie Fest – Rail mode activated

From 19–21 February 2026, the Ogau Rookie Fest takes over Snowpark Oberammergau in Germany with a pure snowboard format. Important update: the freeski competition has been cancelled. Ogau is now 100% snowboard.

And honestly? That means one thing: full focus on rail destruction.

Known as one of the strongest rail stops of the winter, Ogau is compact, technical and unforgiving. No wasted space, no easy lines. Just steel, creativity and that precise board control that separates stylish from sketchy. Organized together with the Junior Freestyle Tour and shaped by the Oberammergau Snowpark Crew, this is a proper rail battle in the heart of Europe.

Innsbruck Rookie Fest – Skyline slopestyle history

From 21–23 February 2026, the Innsbruck Rookie Fest returns to Nordkette Skyline Park, one of the most iconic urban-alpine venues on the entire Tour.

Big news: for the first time ever, Innsbruck hosts both snowboard and freeski. That’s a serious evolution for a stop with real history.

The setup? Technical slopestyle. The backdrop? Dramatic alpine skyline towering above the city. It’s the kind of venue that makes tricks look bigger and progression feel inevitable. Two disciplines, one legendary stage, and riders pushing the level higher every season.

Registrations close on 18 February. This one will hit different.

Slovakia Rookie Fest – Jasná energy

On 21 February 2026, the Slovakia Rookie Fest lands at Jasná Snowpark in the Nízke Tatry mountains.

Both Snowboard Slopestyle and Freeski Slopestyle will go down, open to Rookies and Groms ready to test their flow on a progressive setup built for safety, speed and technical challenge. Jasná continues to prove itself as one of the strongest freestyle hubs in the region.
