A global snowboard and freeski tour with events across Europe, Asia and America, leading to the World Rookie Finals, live-streamed worldwide.

The World Rookie Tour Winter Season 2025/26 marks a new milestone for the international junior freestyle scene. With snowboard and freeski at its core, the tour officially expands across Slopestyle, Big Air and Rail, connecting urban environments and mountain snowparks into a single global competition pathway.

Active across Europe, Asia and America, the World Rookie Tour involves more than 1,000 young riders every season. Athletes from different countries and cultures compete within the same ranking system, aiming to qualify for the World Rookie Finals and take their first concrete step toward professional freestyle snow sports.

Urban Rail Events with Rock A Rail

The winter season opens with urban rail competitions, organised in conjunction with the World Rookie Tour’s long-standing partner Rock A Rail.
The first rail stop takes place in Latvia, where both snowboard and freeski riders bring freestyle snow sports directly into the city.

The urban rail chapter then continues in the Netherlands, with The Hague hosting the World Rookie Fest The Hague. Scheduled for December 21, this event represents the Urban Rail Grand Final, closing the street-inspired phase of the World Rookie Tour on the iconic Rock A Rail setup.

Snowboard and Freeski Tour Highlights

The core winter calendar develops mainly through the alpine season. A strong snowboard focus characterises the first part of the year, with key stops in Austria, Finland and Italy, including Madonna di Campiglio, which replaces Livigno due to the upcoming Winter Olympics.

At the same time, freeski remains fully integrated into the tour, with an important qualification stop in China, reinforcing the global reach of the World Rookie Tour.

As the season progresses, the tour moves through Poland and Bulgaria, then reaches Germany, where Ogau hosts competitions for both snowboard and freeski.
In Innsbruck (Austria), a historic freeski venue officially expands to include snowboard as well.

Further qualification events take place in Slovakia (snowboard and freeski) and Hungary (snowboard only), followed by additional qualifying opportunities in Romania, USA, Switzerland, Japan and France. Multiple paths, one ranking system, one destination.

Ursus Rookie Fest: a key stop for your 2026 competition season

The Ursus Rookie Fest is more than the first-ever snowboard Rookie event in Madonna di Campiglio. It represents one of the most strategically important opportunities of the 2026 winter season for young snowboarders looking to strengthen their international competitive pathway.

This stop awards FIS points and WSPL points, both of which contribute directly to the World Rookie Rank. For athletes, this means that every run has real value across multiple ranking systems. Even more importantly, performing well in Campiglio can unlock an alternative qualification route to the World Rookie Finals. Riders who do not qualify through podium results at Winter Tour stops can still secure a Finals spot through their position in the World Rookie Rank consistency throughout the season truly pays off.

The event takes place in Ursus Snowpark, widely recognized as one of the top snowparks in the Alps. With world-class shaping, progressive terrain and a layout designed specifically for athlete development, Ursus provides an international-level slopestyle environment that supports learning, performance and progression at every level.

Taking place from January 25–29, 2026, the Ursus Rookie Fest is perfectly placed within the European competition flow. Scheduled between major FIS European Cup events in Prato Nevoso and Seiser Alm, it becomes an ideal addition for riders and teams already travelling across Europe. It offers the chance to collect FIS points while competing exclusively against peers of the same age group, rather than open-category adult athletes. This creates a fairer and more development-focused competitive context.

The field is expected to gather some of the strongest young snowboarders from across Europe, as well as athletes travelling from Australia and New Zealand, making Campiglio a true international meeting point for next-generation talent.The event schedule is structured as follows:

After four successful years hosting the World Rookie Freeski Finals and heading into the fifth edition in 2026, Madonna di Campiglio is ready to welcome a brand-new chapter of the World Rookie Tour.
For the first time, the resort will host a WRT event dedicated exclusively to snowboarders: the Ursus Rookie Fest, scheduled from January 25th to 29th, 2026.

The legendary Ursus Snowpark, already known internationally for its freeski events and creative slopestyle lines, will now open its doors to the rising snowboard generation. The contest will take place on the L Line, one of the most appreciated kicker lines in the Alps, thanks to its variety of sizes, smooth transitions and progression-friendly layout. It’s the ideal setting for rookies and groms looking to compete, push their skills, and experience a world-class event atmosphere.

Behind the scenes, the Ursus Snowpark crew is approaching this first snowboard edition with the same dedication and precision that have made the park one of the most respected terrains in the region. As Snowpark Manager and co-founder of the World Rookie Tour, Jimmi and his team are preparing the L Line specifically for the event, shaping it to offer safe features, high-quality lips and landings, and the kind of playful flow that allows young riders to improve throughout the week. The goal is clear: deliver an environment where progression comes naturally and where every rider, coach and team can fully enjoy their time in Campiglio.

The event is already included in the official FIS calendar, confirming its status as a sanctioned FIS Junior slopestyle competition.

A Top Freestyle Destination: Ursus Snowpark

The event will take place on the iconic L Line of Ursus Snowpark, one of the most respected freestyle terrain parks in the Alps. Known for its creativity, safety and high-quality shaping, Ursus is a benchmark for young athletes training at international level.

The snowpark has hosted the World Rookie Freeski Finals for four consecutive years, earning global recognition. 2026 will mark the fifth edition, reaffirming Ursus as a world-class venue. The Pro Line opens in mid-January, and this season Madonna di Campiglio will host two consecutive international snowboard competitions, making it a true hotspot for freestyle progression.

The Ursus Rookie Fest 2026 offers snowboarders the chance to earn important FIS points and secure a place on the international stage.
Podium winners in the Rookie and Grom categories will receive direct qualification to the World Rookie Snowboard Finals in Kaprun (March 2026).
Additionally, the Best Girl and Best Boy will be awarded a full all-inclusive ticket covering contest entry, lift pass, and accommodation.

Riga is about to switch fully into street mode. On November 29–30, the Latvian capital will host the RaR Rookie Fest Riga, an official stop of the World Rookie Street Tour, turning the city into a high-energy playground for young snowboarders and freeskiers hungry for progression and style.

Organised by the Latvian Ski Federation, in collaboration with the World Rookie Tour and Ghetto Games, this is where Baltic grit meets the global rookie scene. Snowfest Riga will set the stage, blending street culture, music, and spot-style riding into two days of pure action.

The custom rail setup—built for Rookies and Groms—is designed to spotlight creativity, technical precision and that fearless street mindset. Under the lights, riders will battle through qualifications, semifinals and finals, feeding off crowd energy and the unmistakable Rock A Rail DNA that fuels every feature.

As an official World Rookie Street Tour stop, RaR Rookie Fest Riga awards full World Rookie Rank points, making it a key moment for anyone looking to climb the standings early in the season.
And for snowboarders, the stakes are even higher: the podium finishers will secure a direct qualification for the Snowboard Street Finals, scheduled for March 2026 in Kaprun: the ultimate showdown for the world’s best under-18 street riders.

The World Rookie Tour expands with the launch of the World Rookie Street Tour: a fresh urban series for freeskiers and snowboarders, created in collaboration with Rock A Rail.

The World Rookie Street Tour is here! And it’s bringing a brand-new urban twist to the legendary World Rookie Tour.
This season, the WRT joins forces with Rock A Rail, Europe’s most iconic street event, to create a platform where freeskiers and snowboarders can showcase their creativity, style, and progression in authentic urban environments.

From now on, during each Rock A Rail stop, one full day will be transformed into a World Rookie Fest, officially part of the World Rookie Street Tour calendar.
Riders will challenge themselves on rails, ledges, and innovative street features, turning every city setup into a playground for new tricks and bold style.

The first stop of the World Rookie Street Tour kicks off this Sunday, November 16th, at the Open Rail Jam in Hintertux, during the World Rookie Camp.

From March 15 to 20, 2026, the spotlight will first shine on Madonna di Campiglio, one of the most famous resorts in the Brenta Dolomites and a true paradise for freestyle skiing. The Freeski Finals Madonna di Campiglio will feature Slopestyle and Big Air competitions, where Europe’s best rookies will show off style, amplitude, and technical precision. Riders will challenge perfectly shaped lines at Ursus Snowpark, a location renowned for its creative setup and breathtaking alpine views. Between one run and the next, athletes and fans alike will experience the unique atmosphere of the Dolomites, where sport, nature, and community blend in perfect harmony.

SNOWBOARD FINALS – KAPRUN, AUSTRIA

Immediately after the Freeski event, the action will move across the Alps to Kaprun – Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, in the Zell am See-Kaprun region. From March 21 to 28, 2026, the Snowboard Finals Kaprun will bring together the top young snowboarders from every corner of the globe. This edition will feature both Slopestyle and Halfpipe, two disciplines that have defined the identity of the World Rookie Tour since its origins. Kaprun’s snowpark and halfpipe are among the best in Europe, offering the perfect setup for breathtaking tricks and high-level competition.

The World Rookie Finals 2026 will once again confirm their status as the most important youth freestyle event in the world a week where future champions are crowned and lifelong friendships are born. Get ready for a full day of progression, style, and pure skate energy: the Modena Skateboard School is back with a special event you can’t miss: the Masterclass Skateboard 2025, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, at the indoor skatepark of Modena, Italy.

Led by two leading names of the Italian skateboard scene, Agustín Aquila, member of the Italian National Skateboard Team, and Mattia Restante, official National Team coach and FISR/World Skate technical trainer, this event is a unique opportunity for young skaters to learn, evolve, and push their limits.

The World Rookie Skateboard Finals Velenje 2025 are ready to crown the new champions in Street and Bowl. On September 27–28, the Urbani Park of Velenje will host the best rookies from all over the world, battling for the crown in one of the most exciting weekends of the season.

These Finals are more than just a competition: they are a stepping stone to the international skateboarding scene. Alongside the titles and WCS Ranking points, winners will also secure top-level prizes: tickets to O Marisquiño 2026 and Mystic Sk8 Cup 2026, invitations to the Red Bull Special Experience, Golden Tickets for all 2026 World Rookie Skateboard events, plus entries to other international contests and special rewards from Blue Tomato, TSG, Boardriding.com, and WRT.

The entire contest will take place on Saturday, September 27. The day kicks off with open practice sessions, followed by qualifications and finals for Street and Bowl. Bowl finals will feature heats of 5 skaters, each with two 45-second runs plus a jam session. The action will continue until the evening Prize Giving Ceremony, where the new champions will be celebrated.

Portugal Rookie Fest 2025: last stop before the World Rookie Finals!

The 2025 World Rookie Tour is heading to Portugal for its final qualifying event before the grand World Rookie Finals. Mark your calendars for September 20–21, 2025, when the brand new Boa Sombra Skatepark in Peniche will host the Portugal Rookie Fest 2025, the last chance for young skateboarders to secure their spot on the international stage.

Located just a few steps from Baleal beach, Boa Sombra Skatepark offers a unique setting that blends skateboarding with surf vibes and urban culture. This event is not only the 11th and final qualifying stop of the World Rookie Tour, but also the gateway to the World Rookie Finals in Slovenia, where riders will compete for wildcards to legendary contests such as the Simple Session and Mystic Sk8 Cup.

But the Portugal Rookie Fest 2025 is more than competition. The Nitro Rookie Camp is back, ready to kick off the winter season in style. From December 12 to 14, 2025, young riders will gather in Madonna di Campiglio, one of the most iconic winter destinations in the Alps, for a unique experience mixing snowboard and freeski training, fun, and friendship.

Unlike a high-level competition, this camp is specifically designed for beginners and intermediate riders aged 8 years and above who want to enjoy their first freestyle sessions in a safe and motivating environment. It’s the perfect way to start the season, build confidence, and learn new tricks surrounded by the breathtaking Dolomites.

What’s included in the Nitro Rookie Camp

The Nitro Rookie Camp package provides everything riders need for a complete experience:

  • 2 nights in a 3-star hotel with half board

  • 2-day ski pass in Madonna di Campiglio

  • Freestyle sessions at Ursus Snowpark, one of the most famous parks in the Alps

Registrations open for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025 in Velenje, Slovenia

From September 26th to 28th, 2025, the spotlight of youth skateboarding will land in Velenje, Slovenia, for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025. For the first time, the Finals will be hosted at the legendary Urbani Park Velenje, the largest skatepark in Slovenia, where the world’s best young skaters will battle for the title of World Rookie Champion.

Organisers Skate Slovenia and Rdeca Dvorana Velenje are ready to welcome the world’s top under-18 riders. Don’t worry if you haven’t qualified yet: there are still other stops in Europe to secure your ticket (check the WRT Calendar). But from today, registrations for the Finals are officially open!

The park itself is a masterpiece, designed by Chris Khan, one of Slovenia’s most influential skaters, also responsible for the skatepark of the World Cup Skateboarding contest O Marisquino in Vigo. This year’s Finals will also count as a World Cup Skateboarding event, with official WCS ranking points up for grabs.

The skatepark will be open and free of charge every day before the event, offering riders the chance to arrive early and train.

In this unique scenario, the World Rookie Skateboard Champions 2025 will be crowned, with amazing prizes on the line: wildcards to top events such as the Mystic Sk8 Cup 2026, invitations to exclusive Red Bull Experiences, and product prizes from partners including Blue Tomato and TSG. The event will also be broadcast live – link coming soon.

  • Rookies: born 2006–2009 (boys and girls)

  • Groms: born 2010 and younger (boys)

  • Qualified riders include:

    • Top 3 podium finishers from every WRT stop

    • Top 10 ranked riders by September 24th

    • National quota spots (send an email to registration@worldrookietour.com showing your skills)

    • Wildcards assigned by the Organising Committee

Important: Every rider, even those already qualified, must send the duly completed registration form to confirm participation.

The World Rookie Tour is back in Southeast Asia! On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the spotlight turns to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for the Cambodia Rookie Fest 2025: the only World Rookie Tour skateboarding stop in the region.

Hosted at FACTORY Phnom Penh, this event will welcome young skaters from across Asia and beyond for a unique blend of street skateboarding, culture, and community. Phnom Penh, a lively capital on the banks of the Mekong River, is rapidly becoming a hub for skateboarding, and the local crews are ready to showcase their scene on the international stage.

More than a contest

The Cambodia Rookie Fest is co-organised with the Cambodian Skateboard Federation and offers much more than competition. Expect live DJs, food and drinks, side activities, and a legendary boat cruise on the Mekong River with BBQ and music. Riders will also enjoy street sessions, cultural explorations, and the chance to connect with an energetic skate community.

Podium finishers in Phnom Penh will secure their ticket to the World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Slovenia later this month. The World Rookie Tour Skateboarding 2025 is coming back to Switzerland with a brand-new edition of the Swiss Rookie Fest 2025, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Skatepark Elgg near Zurich. Hosted by Skate Academy, this youth skateboarding contest is part of the official WRT calendar and offers a unique chance to qualify for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2026.

The event is open to young skateboarders from all over Europe and beyond, with two official WRT categories: Groms (under 14) and Rookies (under 18). After the exciting editions in 2023 and 2024, the Black Yeti is ready to take over Tsarevo once again with a unique mix of action sports and lifestyle. The competition will follow the Park Skateboarding format, set inside a professional concrete pool nestled in the pine trees of the park.
