The World Rookie Tour is landing in the Netherlands with style, attitude, and a whole lot of rails. On 21 December 2025, The Hague will host a brand-new stop on the international tour: the World Rookie Fest The Hague, built on the legendary Rock a Rail setup during Snowfest. For the first time, young snowboarders from all over the world will have the chance to throw down tricks on one of Europe’s most iconic street-snowboard structures, normally reserved for top-tier pros.

This special edition brings the perfect mix of progression and fun. The Rock a Rail setup will be adapted so that riders of different levels can ride safely, without losing the raw street energy that made it famous. Competitors will battle for prestigious Rookie Tour titles and a selection of seriously cool prizes, including invitations to top international events, exclusive training sessions, and unique experiences with the World Rookie Tour partners.

Expect an international atmosphere from start to finish. Riders from multiple countries will gather in The Hague for a full day of street-snowboard action, supported by the vibrant lifestyle program of Snowfest.

How to Join the World Rookie Tour

The World Rookie Tour is the global stage for the next generation of action-sport athletes. It is open to all motivated young snowboarders under 18 years old (under 19 for skateboarding), offering a pathway toward professional careers.

Age Categories:

  • Rookies (men and women): born between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2010
  • Groms (men and women): born on 1 January 2011 and younger

Ursus Rookie Fest: registrations are now open!

After four successful years hosting the World Rookie Freeski Finals and heading into the fifth edition in 2026, Madonna di Campiglio is ready to welcome a brand-new chapter of the World Rookie Tour.
For the first time, the resort will host a WRT event dedicated exclusively to snowboarders: the Ursus Rookie Fest, scheduled from January 25th to 29th, 2026.

The legendary Ursus Snowpark, already known internationally for its freeski events and creative slopestyle lines, will now open its doors to the rising snowboard generation. The contest will take place on the L Line, one of the most appreciated kicker lines in the Alps, thanks to its variety of sizes, smooth transitions and progression-friendly layout. It’s the ideal setting for rookies and groms looking to compete, push their skills, and experience a world-class event atmosphere.

Behind the scenes, the Ursus Snowpark crew is approaching this first snowboard edition with the same dedication and precision that have made the park one of the most respected terrains in the region. As Snowpark Manager and co-founder of the World Rookie Tour, Jimmi and his team are preparing the L Line specifically for the event, shaping it to offer safe features, high-quality lips and landings, and the kind of playful flow that allows young riders to improve throughout the week. The goal is clear: deliver an environment where progression comes naturally and where every rider, coach and team can fully enjoy their time in Campiglio.

Registrations open today, and the Black Yeti has prepared an all-inclusive package for all the riders an all-inclusive package. The all-inclusive offer includes 4 nights in a 3* hotel with half board, 4 days of lift tickets, entry fee (for riders), afternoon activities, free drinks and a welcome goodie bag.
A special Early Bird rate is available until December 19th, giving athletes access to a reduced price if they register before the deadline.

The World Rookie Tour is ready to kick off one of the most anticipated events of the winter: the Ursus Rookie Fest 2026, scheduled from January 25 to 29 in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. The event is already included in the official FIS calendar, confirming its status as a sanctioned FIS Junior slopestyle competition.

A Top Freestyle Destination: Ursus Snowpark

The event will take place on the iconic L Line of Ursus Snowpark, one of the most respected freestyle terrain parks in the Alps. Known for its creativity, safety and high-quality shaping, Ursus is a benchmark for young athletes training at international level.

The snowpark has hosted the World Rookie Freeski Finals for four consecutive years, earning global recognition. 2026 will mark the fifth edition, reaffirming Ursus as a world-class venue. The Pro Line opens in mid-January, and this season Madonna di Campiglio will host two consecutive international snowboard competitions, making it a true hotspot for freestyle progression.

FIS Points and Access to the World Rookie Finals

The Ursus Rookie Fest 2026 offers snowboarders the chance to earn important FIS points and secure a place on the international stage.
Podium winners in the Rookie and Grom categories will receive direct qualification to the World Rookie Snowboard Finals in Kaprun (March 2026).
Additionally, the Best Girl and Best Boy will be awarded a full all-inclusive ticket covering contest entry, lift pass, and accommodation.

Riga is about to switch fully into street mode. On November 29–30, the Latvian capital will host the RaR Rookie Fest Riga, an official stop of the World Rookie Street Tour, turning the city into a high-energy playground for young snowboarders and freeskiers hungry for progression and style.

Organised by the Latvian Ski Federation, in collaboration with the World Rookie Tour and Ghetto Games, this is where Baltic grit meets the global rookie scene. Snowfest Riga will set the stage, blending street culture, music, and spot-style riding into two days of pure action.

The custom rail setup—built for Rookies and Groms—is designed to spotlight creativity, technical precision and that fearless street mindset. Under the lights, riders will battle through qualifications, semifinals and finals, feeding off crowd energy and the unmistakable Rock A Rail DNA that fuels every feature.

As an official World Rookie Street Tour stop, RaR Rookie Fest Riga awards full World Rookie Rank points, making it a key moment for anyone looking to climb the standings early in the season.
And for snowboarders, the stakes are even higher: the podium finishers will secure a direct qualification for the Snowboard Street Finals, scheduled for March 2026 in Kaprun: the ultimate showdown for the world’s best under-18 street riders.

The World Rookie Tour expands with the launch of the World Rookie Street Tour: a fresh urban series for freeskiers and snowboarders, created in collaboration with Rock A Rail.

The World Rookie Street Tour is here! And it’s bringing a brand-new urban twist to the legendary World Rookie Tour.
This season, the WRT joins forces with Rock A Rail, Europe’s most iconic street event, to create a platform where freeskiers and snowboarders can showcase their creativity, style, and progression in authentic urban environments.

From now on, during each Rock A Rail stop, one full day will be transformed into a World Rookie Fest, officially part of the World Rookie Street Tour calendar.
Riders will challenge themselves on rails, ledges, and innovative street features, turning every city setup into a playground for new tricks and bold style.

The first stop of the World Rookie Street Tour kicks off this Sunday, November 16th, at the Open Rail Jam in Hintertux, during the World Rookie Camp.
The top riders will earn a spot for Rock A Rail Innsbruck, where they’ll join the action alongside some of the 2025 WRT champions.

During the World Rookie Camp Hintertux, snowboarders and freeskiers from all over will battle it out in an Organised Jam Session on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The top 3 women and 5 men in each sport will qualify directly for the legendary Rock A Rail Innsbruck Finals, taking place from November 21 to 23, 2025.

There are no age limits, and spots are limited to 50 riders per sport — first-come, first-served.

The entry fee is €25, and lift tickets for Hintertux must be purchased directly at the Kassa.
It’s time to send it, showcase your best tricks, and maybe land a spot among the world’s most stylish riders in Innsbruck.

The Jam Session at Hintertux will feature multiple heats for men and women in both snowboard and freeski, running from 10:00 to 14:00, followed by a massive vibe session with the WRT crew.

Get ready for a full day of progression, style, and pure skate energy: the Modena Skateboard School is back with a special event you can’t miss: the Masterclass Skateboard 2025, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, at the indoor skatepark of Modena, Italy.

Led by two leading names of the Italian skateboard scene, Agustín Aquila, member of the Italian National Skateboard Team, and Mattia Restante, official National Team coach and FISR/World Skate technical trainer, this event is a unique opportunity for young skaters to learn, evolve, and push their limits.

During the Hintertux Opening 2025, the Black Yeti crew brought creativity and inclusion to the glacier with a new and inspiring edition of the He.Art Project, featuring the talented artist Harald Kirchebner. This special moment turned the mountain into an open-air studio, where riders, artists, and guests from Lebenshilfe Tirol came together to celebrate the power of art, snow, and community.

The He.Art Project was born from a simple but powerful idea: that art and snowboarding share the same energy. Both are about self-expression, emotion, and breaking boundaries. On the snow, riders express themselves through movement; on canvas, artists express the same spirit through colour and form. This weekend in Hintertux, those two worlds met in perfect harmony.

Together with Lebenshilfe Tirol, an association that supports people with disabilities in living active, creative, and independent lives, the project became a vibrant example of inclusion through creativity. Participants and riders collaborated side by side, creating paintings inspired by the mountains, snowflakes, and the joy of sharing experiences outdoors. Each brushstroke reflected freedom, friendship, and the universal language of art.

As the glacier sparkled under the autumn sun, laughter and colours filled the space. Harald Kirchebner guided the group with his unique artistic approach, encouraging everyone to express their emotions freely. The 2025 World Rookie Skateboarding Finals turned Velenje, Slovenia, into the epicentre of youth skateboarding. On September 28, the brand-new Urbani Park Velenje hosted an unforgettable showdown, confirming itself as one of the best skateparks in Europe. Designed by the Slovenian pro Chris Khan, this 2,200 m² concrete playground became the battlefield where the best young skaters from all over the world battled for the World Rookie titles.

Bowl Girls Final

The girls’ Bowl contest was dominated by the youngest riders. Olive Newman from the UK, only 12 years old, impressed the judges with stylish Vert tricks and grinds, scoring 75.33 and securing first place as well as the coveted Golden Ticket for all 2026 World Rookie Tour stops. Teresa Havlikova (Czechia) and Jolana Stepanova (Czechia) completed the podium, proving that the next generation is ready to shine.

Bowl Boys Final

The boys’ Bowl final was all about Italian rising star Mattia Murroni. At just 10 years old, he landed Backside 540s and Kickflip Indy Grabs to achieve an 89.33, earning first place and his Golden Ticket. Adam Slavicinsky from Czechia and UK skater Scotti Cammarota followed with powerful performances, both receiving invitations to the 2026 Mystic Cup.

Street Girls Final

The Street Girls’ final was a nail-biter. Italy’s Irene Panzavolta came out on top with a technical and consistent run, highlighted by a Shuvit Backboard and Backside Flip, finishing with a 70.75 score. Finland’s Unna Peltolato and Belgium’s Pippa Mestdagh took second and third place, separated by only half a point.

The youngest skaters also took the spotlight in the World Rookie Skateboarding Finals with the Street Grom Girls division. The Netherlands’ Yara Backx claimed the top spot with solid consistency and creative lines through the Urbani Park obstacles. Italy’s Dora Gasperini earned a strong second place, showing style and progression, while Portugal’s Benny Roquette completed the podium in third. This category confirmed that the rookie stage is not just about older teens—talent is already exploding among riders under 16.

Street Boys Final

The Street Boys division delivered the highest scores of the event. Pacal Teixeira from Portugal, just 14, took the overall victory with an outstanding 92.75. His flawless run included a Kickflip Backside Tail Slide and a Tre Flip over a huge gap. Belgium’s Beau Brunclair claimed second place with a 90.00, while Francis Cotton (Belgium) rounded out the podium.

Teixeira not only secured the World Rookie Skateboarding Finals 2025 title but also earned three Golden Tickets: entry to O Marisquino, Mystic Cup, and all 2026 World Rookie Tour stops.

The World Rookie Skateboard Finals Velenje 2025 are ready to crown the new champions in Street and Bowl. On September 27–28, the Urbani Park of Velenje will host the best rookies from all over the world, battling for the crown in one of the most exciting weekends of the season.

These Finals are more than just a competition: they are a stepping stone to the international skateboarding scene. Alongside the titles and WCS Ranking points, winners will also secure top-level prizes: tickets to O Marisquiño 2026 and Mystic Sk8 Cup 2026, invitations to the Red Bull Special Experience, Golden Tickets for all 2026 World Rookie Skateboard events, plus entries to other international contests and special rewards from Blue Tomato, TSG, Boardriding.com, and WRT.

The program

The entire contest will take place on Saturday, September 27. The day kicks off with open practice sessions, followed by qualifications and finals for Street and Bowl. Street qualifications will be held in a jam session format, while finals will see the top 10 riders competing in 1-minute runs. Bowl finals will feature heats of 5 skaters, each with two 45-second runs plus a jam session. The action will continue until the evening Prize Giving Ceremony, where the new champions will be celebrated.

The World Rookie Tour 2025 brought the heat to the Portuguese coast with an unforgettable stop at Boa Sombra Skatepark, the brand-new indoor skatepark in Peniche. This event was the final qualifying stage before the World Rookie Tour Skateboard Finals in Slovenia, showcasing some of the most promising under-18 riders from around the world.

Over the weekend, young skaters displayed fearless style, technical mastery, and creativity that had the judges struggling to pick winners. With an atmosphere buzzing with music, graffiti, and surf workshops, the event blended skateboarding culture and lifestyle, making Boa Sombra Skatepark the epicentre of youth action sports.

The level of progression in both Rookie and Grom divisions (under 15) was remarkable. Skaters not only competed fiercely, but also pushed the scene forward with innovative tricks and inspiring performances. Hungarian Rookie Fest 2025: one of the last chances to qualify for the World Rookie Finals

The World Rookie Tour is returning to Hungary with the Hungarian Rookie Fest 2025, set for September 12–13 at Debex Skatepark in Debrecen. This contest is one of the last opportunities to qualify for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025, taking place in Velenje, Slovenia, from September 26 to 28.

Hungarian Rookie Fest 2025

Young skaters from across Europe will gather in Debrecen to showcase their talent, creativity, and style in street skateboarding competitions. The Hungarian Rookie Fest features two age categories: Rookies (born between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2009) and Groms (born from January 1, 2010 onwards). Both male and female riders are invited to compete for podium spots, valuable World Rookie Rank points, and exclusive prizes from Blue Tomato and TSG.

The event begins on September 12 with a full day of open training and a fun Game of Skate session, providing riders with the opportunity to warm up and connect with the local skate community. On September 13, the program continues with registration and morning training, followed by the official competition starting at 13:30. The day will wrap up with the prize giving at 17:30 and an After Session with music, celebrating skateboarding culture and community.

To participate in the Hungarian Rookie Fest, riders must just register via email at registration@worldrookietour.com or at the following LINK. The participation is FREE. Accommodation is not included, so participants are encouraged to book their own stay in Debrecen. The organisation team is available to assist if needed.

At stake are two all-inclusive tickets to the World Rookie Finals in Slovenia, along with the qualification of all podium riders in every category. The Best Trick winner will also secure a spot at the Finals, making Debrecen an unmissable stop for Europe’s next skateboarding stars.

Powered by Red Bull and supported by local partners including Debex, Schaeffler, Criminal Skateshop, Skullcandy, and Ostya Skate Academy, the Hungarian Rookie Fest will feature professional judging, media coverage, and an electrifying vibe.

Registrations open for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025 in Velenje, Slovenia

From September 26th to 28th, 2025, the spotlight of youth skateboarding will land in Velenje, Slovenia, for the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025. For the first time, the Finals will be hosted at the legendary Urbani Park Velenje, the largest skatepark in Slovenia, where the world’s best young skaters will battle for the title of World Rookie Champion.

Organisers Skate Slovenia and Rdeca Dvorana Velenje are ready to welcome the world’s top under-18 riders. Don’t worry if you haven’t qualified yet: there are still other stops in Europe to secure your ticket (check the WRT Calendar). But from today, registrations for the Finals are officially open!

The park itself is a masterpiece, designed by Chris Khan, one of Slovenia’s most influential skaters, also responsible for the skatepark of the World Cup Skateboarding contest O Marisquino in Vigo. This year’s Finals will also count as a World Cup Skateboarding event, with official WCS ranking points up for grabs.

The skatepark will be open and free of charge every day before the event, offering riders the chance to arrive early and train.

In this unique scenario, the World Rookie Skateboard Champions 2025 will be crowned, with amazing prizes on the line: wildcards to top events such as the Mystic Sk8 Cup 2026, invitations to exclusive Red Bull Experiences, and product prizes from partners including Blue Tomato and TSG. The event will also be broadcast live – link coming soon.

Who can join the World Rookie Skateboard Finals 2025

  • Rookies: born 2006–2009 (boys and girls)

  • Groms: born 2010 and younger (boys)

  • Qualified riders include:

    • Top 3 podium finishers from every WRT stop

    • Top 10 ranked riders by September 24th

    • National quota spots (send an email to registration@worldrookietour.com showing your skills)

    • Wildcards assigned by the Organising Committee

Important: Every rider, even those already qualified, must send the duly completed registration form to confirm participation.

From Malaysia to Slovenia: ASEAN skate tour riders secure spots at the World Rookie Tour Finals

From August 21 to 25, 2025, Malaysia hosted the opening stop of the ASEAN Skate Tour, marking an unforgettable celebration of skateboarding in Southeast Asia. Organised with passion and precision by MY Skate Federation, the event brought together the best riders from across the region, creating an atmosphere full of energy, creativity, and community.

The Malaysian stop was not just a competition, but a festival of skateboarding culture. With music, friends, and an electric vibe, the event showcased the rapid growth of skateboarding in the ASEAN region. Riders from Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia delivered an exceptional display of talent, proving that Southeast Asia is becoming a true hotspot for the sport.

This contest also served as an official qualifier for the World Rookie Tour Finals in Slovenia, one of the most prestigious youth skateboarding events worldwide. The top three finishers in both the Boys’ and Girls’ categories secured their spots for the Finals, where they will compete against the best young skaters from all continents.

The Boys’ podium saw Thailand’s Kirin Petkiree (@firas12_sk8) take the gold, followed by Cambodia’s Dante Temara (@dantetemara) in second place, and another Thai talent, Attapon Somaem (@okoko0i), in third.

ASEAN skate tour

In the Girls’ division, Chunkao Udomphen (@chunkao_mini) from Thailand impressed everyone with her consistency and style, earning first place. She was joined on the podium by Vereeraya Sukasem (@stvawa_stvawa), also from Thailand, in second, and Quinnara Ayra Darmawan (@quinn_quinnara) from Indonesia, who rounded out the top three.

As winners, both Kirin Petkiree and Chunkao Udomphen also received a full inclusive invitation package for the World Rookie Tour Finals, covering the entire weekend of the event in Slovenia.

The event gathered the best young talents from across Europe, and once again confirmed Switzerland as one of the hottest stages for the future of skateboarding.

Rookie division: Gerber on top again

All eyes were on Simon Gerber (@simongerbr), the World Rookie Champion 2024, who didn’t disappoint. Gerber dominated the Rookie division with powerful, creative lines, proving why he is one of the most promising riders in Europe. With this victory, he added another milestone to his already impressive journey. Joining him on the podium were Larry McGarry (@larrymcgarry) in second and Chillbro (@chillbro1) in third, both riders showing high consistency and style.

Grom division: a new generation rising

In the Grom category, Tiago Barcik (@tiago_barcik) stole the show with clean execution and fearless energy, earning himself first place. Kevin Loi (@kevinnn.loi) followed with a strong second, while Fabiano (@el_fabiano_13) grabbed third. Women’s podium: power and progression

The Women’s contest celebrated the growing scene of female skateboarding in Switzerland. Marlena (@marlena.wdb) impressed the judges and the crowd, taking home first place with confidence and style. Lela Helfenstein (@lelahelfenstein) secured second place, showing determination and progression that inspired everyone present.

Best Trick Contest: pushing limits

The Best Trick session closed the event with an explosion of creativity and commitment. On the kinked rail, Simon Gerber landed a flawless fs blunt flip out, while Chillbro lit up the crowd with a fs nbs bigspin out on the down rail. Both tricks earned roars of approval and capped off an incredible weekend.

UK Rookie Fest 2025: international skateboarding talent shines at Unit 23 Skatepark

On August 23, 2025, the UK Rookie Fest 2025 once again confirmed itself as one of the highlights of the World Rookie Tour calendar. Hosted at the legendary Unit 23 Skatepark in Dumbarton, near Glasgow, the event attracted some of the best young skateboarders from across Europe for an unforgettable day of competition in both street and park disciplines.

UK Rookie Fest 2025

The atmosphere inside Unit 23 was electric. Known as the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK, it provided the perfect stage for riders to showcase their style, creativity, and technical skills. This year’s edition stood out not only for the high level of British skateboarding but also for the strong international presence. Athletes from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Italy, and Bulgaria joined the contest, turning the UK Rookie Fest into a truly global showcase of next-gen skateboarding.

The street competitions delivered impressive performances, with Kayden Hewson Cantoni (British/Spanish) taking first place in the Boys category, followed by Fraser Laird (Scottish/British) and Marcel Gumienny (British/Polish). In the Girls’ division, Madalena Galante from Portugal claimed the top step of the podium, with Olive Newman and Dottie Morgan-Kleinberg, both from the UK, in second and third place.

In the park discipline, the British/Italian rider Scotti Cammarota stole the show with a flawless run, earning first place in the Boys’ category. He was joined on the podium by Kit Newman in second and Aidan Small in third. She was followed by Free Clarkson in second and Ava Ratcliff in third.

All podium finishers at the UK Rookie Fest 2025 earned direct qualification to the World Rookie Skateboard Finals, scheduled for the end of September in Slovenia. With such an incredible display of talent, expectations are already high for the Finals, where the world’s best young skaters will battle for the prestigious World Rookie Champion titles.

Sea & Ride Rookie Fest Tsarevo 2025: Bulgaria hosts the World Rookie Tour for the third time

On August 9, 2025, X Challenge Park in Tsarevo, Bulgaria, once again turned into the ultimate stage for the Sea & Ride Rookie Fest Tsarevo, part of the global World Rookie Tour. For the third consecutive year, the legendary bowl of Tsarevo welcomed the new generation of skateboarders, bringing together young riders from six different countries. Sunshine, sea breeze, and pure adrenaline created the perfect backdrop for a unique skateboarding celebration on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The competition featured two divisions, Grom Boys and Rookie Boys, where riders showcased creativity, technical skills, and fearless style. Among them, Antoaneta Ivanova (13) from Boroboard Club – Samokov stood out as the only girl who dared to drop into the bowl. Her courage inspired the audience and earned her widespread respect. Another highlight was Hristo Atanasov (7), who has been skateboarding for just a few weeks yet already displayed remarkable potential. Representing Moten Ski Club and also active as a surf competitor for A-Team Surf Club, Hristo was awarded the youngest and most promising rider.

The champions of the 2025 edition secured not only prizes from the event partners but also an all-inclusive ticket to the World Rookie Tour Finals in Slovenia this September. Victories went to:

Now celebrating its third edition, Sea & Ride Rookie Fest Tsarevo has grown into one of the most anticipated skateboarding events in Bulgaria, attracting an increasing number of international participants. Looking ahead, organisers announced an exciting upgrade: from 2026, the event will evolve into a three-day festival combining street skateboarding, windsurfing, and other action sports activities along the coast.

The success of this year’s event was made possible thanks to the support of Ford Moto-Pfohe, Red Bull, Blue Tomato, TSG, and Snow Limit, who continue to empower young skateboarders on their journey to the global stage.

World Rookie Tour shines at Maramureș Rookie Fest 2025 in Romania

From 3–5 August 2025, Baia Mare became the epicentre of Romanian skateboarding with the latest edition of the Maramureș Rookie Fest 2025, the only official street skateboarding competition in Romania and a proud stop of the global World Rookie Tour. Hosted at the Baia Mare Skatepark and the city’s historic centre, this event delivered the highest level of skateboarding ever seen in the country, attracting top under-19 riders from Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Italy, and Germany.

Competition & Street Session

The contest opened with warm-ups and practice on August 3, followed by qualifications and finals on August 4 at the Baia Mare Skatepark. The highlight of the weekend was the legendary Street Session on August 5 in the old town centre, where riders showcased creativity, style, and technical mastery in front of an electric crowd. This urban skate jam produced some of the best clips in the event’s history, blending skateboarding culture with Baia Mare’s unique heritage.

Winners & World Finals Qualification

The competitive level was extraordinary. In the Rookie division (U19), local hero Patric Iluț (Romania) took first place. Since he already secured a ticket earlier this season, the coveted Golden Ticket, all-inclusive for the World Rookie Tour Finals in Velenje, Slovenia, was transferred to Oskar Sikk (Estonia), who placed third. Second place went to Marci Karpati (Hungary), who also earned qualification for the Finals.

In the Girls category, Petra Merimaa (Estonia) impressed the judges with her consistent runs and secured her place at the Finals. The youngest riders lit up the Super Groms division (under 10 years), where Akira Cotaddini (Italy) claimed the win and a Golden Ticket, followed by Benjamin Schikorojan (Germany), who also qualified.
